Welcome to Mayhen Press! I am Megan Hobby-Kauffman, the creative mind behind the products here. Mayhen Press was founded on the idea of providing exciting, tactile products that can easily enrich your life and the lives of those around you with beauty, fun and color. The products here are made as sustainable as possible, printing our pattern sheets on recyclable paper and using recyclable packaging everywhere we can.
Shape, color and texture
I am an author and illustrator with a longstanding love of shape, color and texture. While studying illustration in Cambridge, England I discovered printmaking and all of its beautiful textures and layered nuances. Many of the designs at Mayhen Press have an aesthetic that comes from my work with silkscreen and linocut printing.
After an initial sketch of a design, most projects are begun by carving a relief print or cutting bold shapes from black paper. After hand printing the design each piece of art is scanned and finished on the computer.
I hope you enjoy using the products at Mayhen Press as much as I enjoyed making them and they help you make your world beautiful and exciting!
