A Spring Announcement

As I was thinking about this post I realized that since starting this little monthly blog I have never introduced myself! I am Megan Hobby Kauffman, the designer and creative mind behind Mayhen Press.

I currently live in North Carolina with my little family. My husband and I have a sweet boxer dog named Luna, two boys (ages 10 and 4) and have just welcomed a baby girl into our troupe last month! 

We are all in love with our new little sweetheart but her entrance into our lives has meant that I’ve been working a bit slower than normal. Slowing down to try and enjoy my new little person is a balancing act but it has sweet rewards. 

I’ve slowly been designing a couple new mini collections for the shop in the midst of getting used to having a new baby again (hello sleep depravity!). I’m really excited to release these new patterns into the world as I feel like they really hit the mark with the fun yet sophisticated vibe that I aim for at Mayhen Press. Here's a little sneaky peak at one mini collection!

Designing these patterns and choosing the colors for them has really got me thinking about contrast- not only color contrast but also bold, graphic motifs paired with more sketchy and gentle line based motifs. I love contrast. A world of all one thing can begin to feel a bit lopsided!
